The Business Card and the Scriptures

The Business Card Explained

The "Business" is advancing the kingdom of God and His righteousness. Christians can accomplish this by speaking the good news that never changes which is the gospel of Jesus Christ and His redeeming love. We can speak the Word into the lives of our neighbors while lovingly helping those in need.

http://www.sermonaudio.com/ is a website that has thousands of sermons that you can download for free. I have listed thirteen speakers on the bottom of my card and two of them are spelled incorrectly. John MacArthur and Andrew Murray are the correct names. My favorite preacher in college whom I listened to dozen or sermons from is Paul Washer. John Barnett is the pastor I am listening to now during car rides to and from work or while I am doing yard work. Leonard Ravenhill has some magnificent sermons as well as Johnathan Edwards, George Whitefield and C.H. Spurgeon. C.H. Spurgeon is who my dad is listening to during this season in his early christian life.

If you go to http://www.sermonaudio.com/, you can search for speakers in the top column and then you can sort the sermons by "popular" to give you the sermons downloaded the most.

http://stu.westga.edu/~sburnet2 is the first website I made in college and I can not edit it anymore. If you ever want to see some of the best verses dealing with specific words or phrases, you should look at this website.

And now, we present some of the most amazing Scriptures in the Bible!
Now, out of the 66 books of the Bible that contain 1189 chapters and approximately 31,103 verses, presented here are some of the most prized scriptures that I have come across.
I hope you put some of these on notecards and commit them to memory so that when someone needs to know what the Bible is about, you can tell them something of this sort, "God sent His Holy Word, which was inspired by Him, perfect and established forever, to heal those who have been injured by the evil one and to deliever them from their own sin, their self destructive nature!

THE WORD
Psalm 107:20 20He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

Psalm 119:89  89For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.

2 Peter 1:21 21For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

2 Kings 22:13 13Go ye, enquire of the LORD for me, and for the people, and for all Judah, concerning the words of this book that is found: for great is the wrath of the LORD that is kindled against us, because our fathers have not hearkened unto the words of this book, to do according unto all that which is written concerning us.

Joshua 1:8  8This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

1 Samuel 3:21  21And the LORD appeared again in Shiloh: for the LORD revealed himself to Samuel in Shiloh by the word of the LORD.

John 1:1-5  1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  2The same was in the beginning with God.  3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.  4In him was life; and the life was the light of men.  5And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

Jeremiah 15:16  16Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.

John 17:17  17Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

Psalm 119:11 11Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

Proverbs 13:13  13Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded.

Luke 9:26 26For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels.

Hebrews 4:12  12For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Hebrews 5:9  9And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

THE GOSPEL

Isaiah 53:6  6All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Isaiah 64:6  6But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

Romans 1:21-25

 21Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
 22Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
 23And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
 24Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
 25Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

Romans 3:10  10As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:11There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.  12They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Romans 3:23  23For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Romans 6:23  23For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Ephesians 2:8-10  8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:  9Not of works, lest any man should boast.

 10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Galatians 3:10-13  10For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.  11But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.  12And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.

 13Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

Leviticus 17:11  11For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.

Romans 5:8-10  8But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.  9Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.  10For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

More on the shedding of His blood…

Acts 3:19  19Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.

Acts 20:20-21  20And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publicly, and from house to house,  21Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 5:17-21

 17Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
 18And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
 19To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
 20Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
 21For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

1 Corinthians 15:3-6  3For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;  4And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:  5And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:  6After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.

Hosea 14:1-2  1O israel, return unto the LORD thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity.  2Take with you words, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.

2 Corinthians 6:2  2(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)

OUR DUTY

Mark 12:29-31  29And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:  30And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.  31And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

Deuteronomy 6

 1Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go to possess it:
 2That thou mightest fear the LORD thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son's son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged.
 3Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey.
 4Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:
 5And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
 6And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
 7And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
 8And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.
 9And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.
 10And it shall be, when the LORD thy God shall have brought thee into the land which he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee great and goodly cities, which thou buildedst not,
 11And houses full of all good things, which thou filledst not, and wells digged, which thou diggedst not, vineyards and olive trees, which thou plantedst not; when thou shalt have eaten and be full;
 12Then beware lest thou forget the LORD, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
 13Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name.
 14Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which are round about you;
 15(For the LORD thy God is a jealous God among you) lest the anger of the LORD thy God be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth.
 16Ye shall not tempt the LORD your God, as ye tempted him in Massah.
 17Ye shall diligently keep the commandments of the LORD your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he hath commanded thee.
 18And thou shalt do that which is right and good in the sight of the LORD: that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest go in and possess the good land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers.
 19To cast out all thine enemies from before thee, as the LORD hath spoken.
 20And when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What mean the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD our God hath commanded you?
 21Then thou shalt say unto thy son, We were Pharaoh's bondmen in Egypt; and the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand:
 22And the LORD shewed signs and wonders, great and sore, upon Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his household, before our eyes:
 23And he brought us out from thence, that he might bring us in, to give us the land which he sware unto our fathers.
 24And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.
 25And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the LORD our God, as he hath commanded us.

Romans 8:29 29For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Leviticus 11:44 44For I am the LORD your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

1 Peter 2:13-14 13Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme;  14Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well.

2 Timothy 2:15-16 15Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 16But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

Hosea 4:6  6My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

Romans 12:1-3  1I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.  2And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.  3For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

1 Corinthians 10:31 31Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

Hebrews 13:15 15By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

Matthew 5-7

1 Timothy 4

 1Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
 2Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
 3Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
 4For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
 5For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.
 6If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.
 7But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.
 8For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.
 9This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation.
 10For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.
 11These things command and teach.
 12Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
 13Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.
 14Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.
 15Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.
 16Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

Philippians 4:4-8

 4Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.
 5Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
 6Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
 7And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
 8Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Proverbs 4:20-23  20My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.  21Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.  22For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.  23Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
